Granderalm

A whole lot of people seem to have a certain perception of what Austrian tradition is about. We all wear traditional clothes, spend an hour jodeling every morning and our favorite dish is Kaiserschmarren, right? Now that's for sure the image that was spread and commercialized over the past 70 years. But actually none of these things come close to what the reality is.

Spending two days up here with Seppi, 78, was an absolute pleasure. Far away from the hectic life down there in the valley, he spends his 13th summer in a row up here, in an almost 400 year old hut. Living the most traditional, original Austrian life you can ever imagine.
